Education
1972: Graduated from Edison High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and Captain of the Men's Tennis Team.
1976: Graduated from Lafayette College, Easton, PA, with a BA with Honors in Biology. (Dr Bloom also earned 2 varsity letters in Tennis at Lafayette.)
1979: Received a Masters of Science in Biology from Baylor University, Waco, TX. Dr Bloom completed 2 years of a PhD. program in Zoology at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK..
1985: Received a DMD degree from The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Philadelphia, Pa.
1986: Completed a General Practice Residency at the Olin E. Teague Veteran's Administration Hospital, Temple, TX. 1986: Entered private practice with Dr. Hyman Weiss. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Weiss retired and Dr. Bloom took over the practice.
1988: Dr. Bloom's wife, Dr. Gari Bloom, entered the practice upon completion of her General Practice Residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, NY, NY. 1989: Continued formal education in the Prosthodontics post-graduate degree program at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY.
1993: Completed Prosthodontic training and continued as a part time faculty member at Montefiore's Department of Prosthodontics until 1997, while maintaining his private practice in New Brunswick.
1999:Joined the staff of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ as a volunteer where he continues to teach post-graduate residents as an attending instructor in the Department of Dentistry. Dr. Charles Bloom has also served as the team dentist for the Rutgers University Athletic Department from 1989 to 2000.

Hobbies
When not plying his trade, Dr. Bloom enjoys spending time with his wife, and children, Ali and Mack, as well as playing basketball, reading about foreign affairs, fishing and bird watching.
